Cultural and Natural History of Maine

June 11-16, 2012

Grab your binoculars and join renowned Audubon naturalists Mike and Margi Shannon and Maine historian Colin Windhorst as we devote this week to exploring the natural and cultural history of the coast. In particular we will get off-shore to see pelagic birds such as puffins, auks, shearwaters and petrels. 2012 being the bicentennial of the War of 1812 Colin will share local stories about the skirmishes that affected the seacoast villages we’ll visit. This cruise will be a rich and rare chance to hear about the intertwined history of the wildlife and people that define the uniqueness of the Maine coast.

This all-inclusive, 6-day sailing adventure boards Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Camden. Cost $915/person.
