What to Bring

What to Bring Aboard The Schooner Mary Day

Leaving Hockomock

Life is pretty laid back on our windjammer cruises. We urge you to use soft collapsible luggage that is easily stowed for your windjammer get-away. Pack comfortable clothes appropriate for Maine’s variable weather: pants, shorts, rubber-soled shoes, a rain slicker. It may be hot when you leave home, but there will be times when you’ll be glad you brought a wind breaker and a sweater. Bring a swimsuit, too, for sunning on deck, swimming or going for a ride on our paddleboards when we’re anchored. If you play a musical instrument, please bring it. Bring your camera, of course, perhaps binoculars for seeing Maine lighthouses or bird watching, and a sketch book or journal for your creative inspirations.

How to Come on a Maine Sailing Vacation With Us

We accommodate just 28 guests each week. Reserve your space early especially if you have a cabin preference. We need a deposit to guarantee your reservation; the balance is due at least six weeks before your cruise. If you must cancel, we will refund your deposit if you notify us at least six weeks before your sailing date. Last minute cancellations will be refunded if we can fill your cabin space. There is a $50/person cancellation fee. We strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance for life’s unforseen events. Call our 800 number for complete reservation information or make your reservation online.

For everyone’s comfort, we have a few simple rules. Our minimum age is 15 except during charters or our Family Cruise. Excessive drinking is strictly forbidden. We ask you to respect quiet hours from 11PM until 7AM. Smoking is permitted above decks only. Please use headphones when listening to music on your favorite device. For everyone’s comfort please make calls using your cell phone during our daily shore excursions. Explore the different cruises available aboard the Schooner Mary Day.
